WEEK 2 - Islamic Sustainable Development

How Islam and Sustainable Development Are Connected

In today’s lesson, we explored how Islam and Sustainable Development go hand in hand. Our teacher explained the concept of Akhlaq (morality), which means being kind and doing good deeds. Islam teaches us to care for Allah, ourselves, and others around us, including animals and nature. For instance, feeding a hungry cat is an example of being a good person while also taking care of the world. This shows how Islam encourages us to live in harmony with everything around us.

Realizing the Bigger Picture

I was surprised to discover that Islam has always taught us how to take care of the world in addition to worshiping Allah. I used to think being moral was only about doing good for Allah, but now I see that these teachings also help us build stronger communities, protect the environment, and improve society. The examples shared in class made these ideas easy to understand and helped me see how Islamic teachings guide us to balance worshiping Allah and taking care of the world at the same time.

Living a Balanced Life

Islam teaches the importance of balance in life. I plan to waste less and use resources wisely, such as water, food, and energy. I also want to be kinder to animals and nature, like not littering and helping where I can. Additionally, I aim to help others, especially those in need, because being socially responsible is a key part of building a better community.

Learning and Growing

To improve, I want to learn more about how the Quran teaches us to act in our daily lives and understand the effects—both good and bad—of our actions. I also hope to learn about how people from different cultures practice good manners, as understanding these differences can help me be more respectful toward everyone.

Looking Ahead

This class helped me realize how closely Islamic teachings are linked to making the world a better place. By following these lessons, we can strengthen our connection with Allah while also caring for the Earth and the people around us. From now on, I will be more mindful of my actions, waste less, and help others and nature. I’m also excited to learn more about how Islamic teachings connect to our everyday lives and to explore other cultures. I look forward to what we will learn in the next class!
